*Main Characters*

Violet Baudelaire * Violet is the oldest Baudelaire orphan. She's 14, and as the oldest, considers herself the "parent" figure to her siblings. She's an inventer, and can often been seen with a ribbon in her hair to keep it out of her face. Her least favorite color is very bright pink, and her fond hope is to find a safe place to live in happiness with her siblings.

Klaus Baudelaire * Klaus is the middle Baudelaire. He's 12 years old, and is a very passionate researcher. He's usually wearing glasses. His favorite thing to do is read. His least favorite color is unusually rosy pink. His fondest hope is to bring Count Olaf to justice.

Sunny Baudelaire * Sunny's the baby Baudelaire. She's got 4 very sharp teeth which come in handy in some sticky situations. Her favorite thing to do is bite things. Her least favorite color is particularly garish pink, and her fond hope is to solve the web of mystery and woe that seems to surround the Baudelaires.

Count Olaf * Count Olaf is the Baudelaire orphans worst enemy. His main goal as of now is to steal the fortune due to the Baudelaire's when they come of age. His occupation is an actor/murderer. He only has one eyebrow. And he has a tattoo of an eye on his ancle.

*Other Characters*

Mr. Poe * Mr. Poe is the person in charge of the Baudelaire's affairs since their parents died. He works at his bank, Mulctuar Money Management. He is always coughing, and his favorite thing to do is... well... bank!

Duncan Quagmire * Duncan Quagmire, as well as his sister, Isadora Quagmire, are triplets (their other sibling died). He always carries a dark green notebook. His least favorite color is excrutiatingly cheerful pink. He loves to take notes on everything, and he longs to tell the Baudelaire's the secret of V.F.D.

Isadora Quagmire * Isadora Quagmire, as well as her brother, Duncan Quagmire, are triplets (their other sibling died). She always carries a black notebook. Her least favorite color is painfully perky pink. She loves writing couplets (two line poems), and she longs to escape from Count Olaf's clutches.

Olaf's Assistants (a few of them): the hook handed man; the 2 women with the powedered white faces; the one that looks like neither man nor woman; the bald man; Esme Squalor (his girlfriend)
